If you like auto design, this MUST be in your collection

I love car design and would have loved to be a car designer. At this point in my life, I live vicariously through books such as this which can give me insight into the industry. This book is a hardback suitable for display. It provides intelligent historical perspectives into some of the most prolific and well-known automobile designers from the 1920s to almost today. Of real interest to me was enjoying the chronicling of carriage-like derivatives to the eventual post WW2 changes....fenders came in, running boards disappeared, bodies swelled over wheel wells, and then fins started to grow out of the rear.
The book touches not only on American designers, such as Harvey Earl, but expands its reach world-wide to catalog designers from Italy, France Germany, Japan and other countries.
There are beautiful full-page illustrations of designs and a multitude of historical photographs.
The only criticism I have is somewhat of a personal choice. I wish the author had allowed commentary of the various illustrations by designers where able to do so (if they were still living).

Amazing!!

Firstly, the book arrived from amazon really quickly and the box it was packaged in had no bumps, scratches, bends, dents, and etc. This might sound insignificant for some but if your like me and you order a lot of books online I am sure you have experienced the packaging of some of your orders in rough shape, which then means your new book is in even rougher shape. So I appreciate when care is take to make sure my package arrives safely and in nice shape. Secondly the book is AMAZING!!!! If your in automotive design, like myself, or even if you love cars, art, or just cool interesting books, this book is for you. The pictures are great and so crisp and clear. Also the book gives a great deal of information on the history of automotive design. I strongly recommend purchasing this book. Great Buy!!!
