A MUST-HAVE for anyone who cares for children

DK Publishing has high standards, and this how-to guide meets them all. It is well organized, simply written, and clearly illustrated so you can take appropriate action even in an emergency situation.

Every parent, grandparent, and day care provider needs to have a copy at hand. I bought several: for the house, the car, the stroller. I could not recommend it more highly, and as a grandparent, I hope I never have to use it.

Outdated. Buy something else. I got this for a friend who is a new parent. She has no experience with first aid. As someone who works in EMS, I saw a lot of places is the book with outdated information or just plain bad direction/advice. The outdated part wasn't what bothered me--I saw the publishing date--it was the still pertinent but poorly presented information/direction that I found unacceptable.

First aid in a jiffy

Being a new parent means being constantly concerned about my child's safety. So I wanted a book on hand with quick instructions just in case something happens. This book has easy instructions and great pictures that are easy to understand. As others wrote, some things, like CPR, have changed. But there are great YouTube videos for that as well as instructions online.

A heavy book with the most essential essentials

This book you can use to get a really good picture of what climate modelling really is. You should be somewhat into your studies and not a first year student.
The book covers virtually every topic that is important if you want to build your own climate model.
Do not try this, though; your PC cannot work with all the subsystems that are described in the volume.

great sequel!

I loved this one as much or more than the first book. I loved Kylen in the first book. I KNEW something was gunna go down, but I was not expecting to fall in love with him more than Deacon. It's of course that bad boy that's broken thing... We all want to drool on them and then fix them. LOL And Kylen is broken, badly. He is coming back from being possessed by a demon for the last century. And he did it willingly. To save the one he loved. And boy does that basically warp his brain LOL or I should say his heart, but I can't because we all know he had one. He wouldn't have ended up where he is now without that heart. And I loved that FINALLY him and Deacon are ok. And even Nate is good with things, and that's because Nate is gunna have his own crazy drama by the next book, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

So, Kylen saves Olivia from sure death and torture. He however does not expect to continue saving her life, in ways he can't explain. And the sharing of energy is causing a bond between them. And then he can't seem to let go, but he won't get close either. He's a reaper, but not really, not with all the demon left overs stuck in him. And Olivia is everything good. He knows she needs to stay away from him with her life literally dwindling away, but he can't help himself. And Ruth is all about making sure he is there for her, because Ruth wants to find a way to help Kylen as well. She knows he's worth saving. And then there's Olivia. She is dying, like right now. And so her last days are spent basically up-heaving everything she has ever known. Human are not alone, and cats are not always kitties. LOL this is my favorite part LOL. It's funny with her and the "cats". And she is exactly what Kylen needed to not only fix himself, hell, she calls him on his bulls***, but to heal as well. And in turn, he gives her everything she asked for in her dying wishes. I seriously cried with that damn list. I think my heart both broke and burst of happiness in that moment. Sorry can't tell you :)

Now with everything going on, there's a serious war being played between heaven and hell. A fallen angel is working with Lucifer to bring hell to earth, and then to take down heaven. And the earth and it's human are caught directly in the cannon fodder area. Humans and their souls are going down left and right. There's some good gory parts in here and some excellent action scenes. But I won't lie, there's a really really steamy romance scene as well. And a little twist for Ruth and Deacon so you won't forget about them, and a totally fuzzy and unexpected surprise for Nate. I believe Bo is my new favorite character in this series LOL And we also get to meet some excellent new Reapers. And another twist with Grim, and Rashnu, who made me cheer. Yeah, it's a great moment for Kylen and Olivia but it's a downward spiral for Nate and a really surprising twist on the bad guys and how evil they can be. So, if you can't tell, I love this series and I totally think if you are looking for a great paranormal romance, or a wonderful new twist on Reapers, or just some great writing, I say go for this one! And make sure you read the first book otherwise you might be looking at some things a little weirdly. LOL though you really would be able to pick up this one and jump right end, knowing that there's something from before, but not be lost as a dude who won't stop for directions *giggle* So, 5 REAPER PAWS!!

He was consumed with what could only be described as…emotions

Just as awesome as book 1 Reap and Repent! It was interesting to get to know Kylen and I loved that his story was a current one and a forward moving one. What I mean is that via his dreams, mostly, do we get to see flashes of his prior life or his time before we meet him in book 1. The rest of the time is a current storyline that also continues from book 1. I liked that more so, because I really didn't want to re-live Demon time with him! He sure is one broken, shell of a 'man' who is trying to deal with the guilt of his past 100 yrs or so & adjusting to life as it is now. Then he saves Olivia (I’m already dying. What did I have to lose?). I was so heartbroken over Olivia! She is such a sweet woman!! Their story is a great one, that has some great funny moments to offset the little darker or sad tone to this story. With lines like “As it was, they were playing a game of supernatural Whac-A-Mole” & “You Scooby-Snacked five demons and thirty souls?” how can it NOT be funny! Lisa comes up with so many of these hilarious lines that I am hard pressed to stop sharing them all with you! Would be much easier to just read the book. Besides a lot of these are hilarious because of the situation or the people involved with it. I wasn't sure if I liked Kylen and while it did take me most of the book to change my opinion of him, well let’s just say that he is one awesome dude! What’s that saying? Behind every great man is an even greater woman? Well that applies to here as well, except that you need to add a LOT more into Olivia's description, and it takes a long time to think of Kylen as great, or at least to me anyway! Lisa truly is a Master Storyteller!! Between the cover & the blurb, I was completely entranced so when I started to read the story I was transported into Reaper World and enjoyed every minute of it! I love Lisa’s Reapers with all of the originality & creativeness that she has put into this Reaper World of hers! I hope that there will be a LOT more books to come!! I don’t think I could ever have too much of Lisa’s Reapers!!

The epic battle between good & evil -- and romance too!

Kylen Larsen is fighting demons--the very real ones escaping hell to wreak havoc on mankind, and the internal ones, the memories of his own century-long demonic possession and the death of his Valkyrie lover. So far, he’s been fighting on the side of good, but he’s been skating so close to the line of evil, he can’t help but be tempted.

And then he saves Olivia Evans from demons only to find out that she’s dying of terminal cancer. He can’t let allow another person to die—but he’d can’t allow himself to love again either. In his torment, will he be able to resist the pull of evil?

Wow. What a read. I was hooked with the first book of the Reaper series, Reap & Repent, and I loved Reap & Redeem just as much. The characters are well-crafted and the plot moves swiftly. By the end, you can’t put it down. The stakes can’t get any higher than the battle of good v. evil. The imagery of the underworld this book evokes is amazing. A fast-paced, gripping read.

Frederic S. Mishkin is Alfred Lerner Professor of Banking and Financial Institutions at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a past Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and after finishing this book was appointed a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He is the author of "The Next Great Globalization: How Disadvantaged Nations Can Harness Their Financial Systems to Get Rich" and other books.

Good Book, still has some errors.

This is a good textbook that really helped me gain a good understanding of monetary policy. It covers current topics such as inflation targeting, the Taylor principle, sterilized currency intervention and the zero lower bound. The book also covered supply and demand for investments and what factors cause supply and demand to increase and decrease.

I feel like I have a good grasp of what is going on currently inside the Fed. Bernanke is using inflation targeting and Mishkin is a proponent of the tactic. It also covered quantitative easing and the time preference theory of bond investment. I think I have a good grasp of the topic. Several chapters have appendices that are available for free online. Reading through those was an extra bonus when it came to test time.

The book did have a couple of errors. Sometimes it would be a slight grammar error or a slight math error. Sometimes it would say something that was completely the opposite of what it said in the next sentence. Fortunately there was enough content that I was able to work through these but to notice an error every 50 pages or so was grating. A book in its tenth edition should not have these issues.

Because I found this book to be a great supplement to my macroeconomic studies I'll rate it highly. For the crazy prices that publishers charge for textbooks, this book deserves another rundown from the editors.

Absolutely excellent teacher; learned so much from this book!

This is a brilliant book. I bought this as a lay person to understand how banking and the markets work. Its so well written and easy to follow. He really breaks things down so you can really understand, he does not use abbreviations without explaining them, and he guides you to comprehend everything. its clear he really knows banking and the markets and really teaches you. I've learned so much, and now can follow and understand the news and papers, and annual reports much better.

What Do You Know, An Economics Textbook...

Well, I am using this book for a course need for my Master's program. The book itself, is well, a book. However, it can be extremely dry (i know, surprise, surprise), but is an overall easy read. The book came packaged well and was in excellent condition. I would not recommend this book as a free-read, but if you need to purchase it for a course, this is probably your best option (price, shipping, and quality)!

Superbly written true crime

It's been many, many years since I've stayed up all night to finish a book, but this one did it for me.
Ann Rule is in top form in this book; her writing is quite well done, unlike many in the true crime genre. The book flows, and while no stone is left unturned, one doesn't feel exhausted and distracted by detail.
At first, I wasn't interested in purchasing this book, believing that since the case received a lot of national publicity and was so recent, I'd know beforehand what I'd read. But I was utterly wrong.
This is really Ann Rule's best book yet, and one of the best books I've ever read in true crime.

Detailed and insightful!

During the time covered in this book I worked as a federal law enforcement officer with an office at the Byrne Courthouse at 6th & Market Streets in Philadelphia, PA. I worked with most of the agencies mentioned by the author and I found the book gave me even more information than I already knew. The author really painted a portrait that makes one want to empathize even more with the Fahey family and her once hoped-to-be husband Mike. What a great piece of research and writing.

Deeply Nuanced Reporting

I am a burned-out former paralegal from Wilmington, Delaware. I knew Thomas Capano and Anne Marie Fahey. I followed the trial closely, and I have read all four true crime books based on this case. Even though Ms. Rule is not a local reporter, her understanding of Wilmington's unique political and social climate is much deeper and more nuanced than any of the other authors'. I strongly recommend this book, which is both a clear-eyed study of this case and a real pleasure to read -- fast-moving and yet deeply felt.
